Developments around the Pollers and the Madestein Landscape Park

This summer, discussions heated up about continuing to delay the construction of the Pollers. Some residents of Westmadepark are urging the municipality (Loosduinen district) and GEM VROONDAAL not to install the Pollers yet. The BVVH and the Traffic and Safety Committee have had many discussions with the various parties and have indicated that road safety on Nederhoflaan/Vroonhoevelaan and the intersection at Madesteinweg is at stake. The access road to Hofstedepark is very unsafe for traffic, because too much traffic drives through it. Initially, the municipality and GEM Vroondaal promised that the implementation would take place in May/June. Due to an objection from some residents of Westmadepark, the implementation was postponed until November 2022. Now there is a risk of delays again, because these residents have lodged an appeal with the court. This is another reason for GEM VROONDAAL to postpone further. You can find all the actions that the BVVH has taken in this regard on the website behind the member log-in.

We are also concerned about the developments around Landscape Park Madestein. The municipality has issued a permit for the felling of 468 trees in the park to make room for the transformation of the landscape park into a recreation park. This while there is already a lot of nuisance for local residents in the summer. The city council has also raised many questions about the proposed plan. All actions, including the notice of objection and the speech in the Living Environment Committee, can be found on the website behind the member log-in.

In January we invite the members to an ALV and New Year's drink. You will hear when and where exactly this will take place.
