Spontaneous action for road safety by local residents
In the week of November 14, a number of residents from the BVVH stood at the intersection to draw attention to the safety of road users. Attention was drawn to the speed measures of 30 km per hour on the 'through roads' and 15 km per hour in the residential areas. The intersection at the end of the neighborhood is experienced by many as very dangerous due to the roads: school-going children who drive up from the forest, cyclists, mopeds, cargo bikes and walkers coming from both sides of the cycle path, construction traffic (lorries and vans), motorists including school-going children, cargo bikes and cyclists from the neighbourhood: a complete traffic chaos in the morning and evening rush hour.
During this spontaneous action we received a visit from the police and Boas. These people responded positively and reported to their superiors.
We have also received positive reactions from fellow residents: “As a resident, I am very happy with it! Finally attention to the lack of crossings on the entire Madesteinweg.'
Let's hope that the message also reaches the municipality and that action will be taken.
