Halloween October 30
Officially, Halloween is a holiday that falls on October 31, but we celebrate this in our neighborhood in the evening on October 30. The origin of this festival lies in Celtic and Catholic culture. The Celtic New Year began on November 1 and was New Year's Eve on October 31. The harvest was in and the seed for the following year was ready. So it's time for a party. For Catholics, it was the eve of All Saints' Day, which is celebrated on November 1. The name Halloween comes from ALL Halloween Eve. In many countries the dead are also commemorated (remembrance day). Officially, that falls on November 2. Adding the element of creep to this celebration comes from commemorating the dead.
On October 30th, we hope that as many creepy-dressed children as possible will walk past the pumpkins and light-decorated houses and shout 'Trick or Treat'. So that the residents are a little scared.
